Hip Hop at the Weisman

When considering “hip hop”, what is the first idea or image that comes to mind? Perhaps 50 Cent appears, or maybe graffiti along trains, pimp cups, beat-boxers, break dancers, or those sunglasses that Kanye West insists on wearing. But if it is not too bold, perhaps imagine how Minneapolis and St. Paul connect with hip hop culture. Is that a stretch? Perhaps, but From April 9-11, the Weisman Art Museum will …

While Amazon and eBay lure consumers with low sticker prices, high shipping rates and two week turn-around times turn “great deals” into “minor inconveniences.” Not …

I cannot fully describe how excited I was to read about Kyp Malone (TV on the Radio) stepping out to make a solo album.

Under the alias of Rain Machine, Malone’s album “Rain Machine” dropped on September 22, 2009, and was met with high praise. While Rain Machine shows ties to TV on the Radio’s albums, “Rain Machine” is more than capable to stand on its own. The overall sound of …

I have always wanted to be a superhero. I am sure I am not alone in this dream. What with Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and Harry Potter out there, there is no chance that I am the only individual that wants to live the dream. But to be honest, my superhero knowledge begins and ends with the …
