Chicano and Latin Writers Festival
Oct. 25th - Nov. 15th

The festival, sponsored by the Friends of the St. Paul Public Library, offers an opportunity to see and hear from both local and national Chicano and Latin writers. Events and topics include a celebration of the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead), a discussion of cultural tensions and personal history, spoken word, and memoir readings. Minnesotan author Faith Sullivan will be reading from her latest book Gardenlas, which follows the migration of three Minnesotan women to California during 1942. Sullivan revisits characters from her best-selling book “The Cape Ann” and through the eyes of Lark, a nine-year-old girl, we see America at the beginning of its World War II efforts.
