The Vikings are pursuing a new stadium at the same old place. But there’s a catch. Much like the Twins and Wild owners, Vikings owner Zygi Wilf is asking for public subsidy. Should we pay for a partially private facility?
I do not think that we should have to pay for a new Vikings stadium. I don’t even think we should have the Vikings. As a University of Minnesota student and a lifetime resident of Minnesota, I think it’s time we show our loyalty to the Gophers. True, not everyone went to the University and the Gophers haven’t been doing so well, but the U of M is a state institution, and a large one at that, and I have high hopes for our new coach. Yes, the Vikings have been improving, but I don’t see loyalty in professional sports. Players constantly getting traded, and their outside the game antics are just frustrating. Go Gophers! Go AWAY Vikings!
